Irelands Minister for Foreign Affairs, Charles Flanagan, TD, will outline a ‘new chapter’ in Scottish-Irish relations when he visits Edinburgh later this week.

Mr., Flanagan will be speaking about ‘the relationship between Ireland and Scotland’ at the European Centre for Carbon Innovation of Thursday, February 5th. After his speech he will take questions from those attending the meeting.

The Celtic League has written to David Ford MLA, Minister for Justice, expressing concerns about recent disturbances at Maghaberry Prison.

The League point out that in the past they have raised concerns about the prison which was the subject of a critical report from the Council of Europe Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment and Punishment.

Mebyon Kernow (MK) is making a determined effort to contest all six seats in Cornwall at the United Kingdom General Election.
Obviously MK does not have the funds or resources of the other main parties in the UK but it has got one thing ‘in spades’, commitment and dedication to Cornwall and the Cornish people.

One of Mk’s candidates is veteran nationalist, Dick Cole, who will be contesting the St Austell and Newquay constituency.

TACTICAL VOTING FOR PLAID RULED OUT BY WELSH GREENS

The leader of the Green Party in Wales has rejected suggestions that Green Party supporters should cast their vote for Plaid Cymru in General Election seats that Plaid stands a good chance of taking.

The comments came following suggestions from former Plaid Cymru leader, Dafydd Wigley, (now Lord Wigley) that Welsh people in England should vote for the Green Party.

Guide to this year's St Piran's Festival in Redruth goes live

Get ready for a sea of black and white Cornish flags as Redruth readies to mark the the Cornish National patron saint of tinners at the 2015 St Piran’s festival.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 7, with the parade including 'St Piran' himself, local school children, Gorsedh representatives, and Cornish music taking centre stage.

The Redruth St Piran's Festival guide has been published online and is also being distributed across the town.

On January 2nd 2015 at Hango Hill, Nationalist spokesman, Bernard Moffatt, said the Manx government’s austerity policy was out of control. He said:

“You can go too far and I think people have just about reached breaking point”

He warned the government if it continued its policy:

‘could tip the Island over the edge’ he said ‘politicians need to be aware ordinary people will only take so much’

The United Kingdom Government has confirmed that the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities is operative in respect of the Cornish people.

The Cornwall Branch of the Celtic League played a pivotal role in the eventual formal recognition of the Cornish people and the effectiveness of their lobbying of politicians at all levels was noted.
