Ireland will act on International Criminal Court Warrant to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Ireland's Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Simon Harris has made clear to Ireland's national broadcaster RTÉ during an interview yesterday that if the Prime Minister of Israel came to Ireland for any reason he would be arrested. This follows the International Criminal Court (ICC) issuing an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged “war crimes”. The Irish Prime Minister said: "Yes absolutely. We support international courts and we apply their warrants." This was backed up by Irish Deputy Prime Minster (Tanaiste) Michael Martin, who is also foreign affairs minister who said that war crimes have been committed in northern Gaza and added: “It’s a collective punishment of the people. They are war crimes. It’s genocidal.”
