Slave labour agenda of Isle of Man plc'

Energy FM has a report on postal workers meeting to discuss the implications of any change agenda at the Post Office:

Given reports (see earlier post) about stress and pressure on other public sector workers maybe the Unions are finally waking from their slumber and might challenge the Chamber driven slave labour agenda of ‘ISLE OF MAN PLC’.

Manx Care Workers under pressure

Credit where it's due! An excellent fact rich report her from Manx Radio on stress levels in the Isle of Man Health Service.

The figures show an alarming increase and one wonders why the issue has not been tackled.

Censored on Facebook - surely not! I mean who would want to shut me up? I think it’s probably ‘Gremlins’ rather than ‘Goon’s.

Well done David!

It was great to see Councillor David Christian given this honour by Douglas Corporation. David has been a good servant of Douglas and the Island generally:

I knew David when we were both shop stewards for the TGWU at the old Rivers and Bridges before he left to set up his business and I left to become full time official of the Union.

'Family Finace Day' on an Island where kids go to school without breakfast!

MTTV are talking to a very intense lady from the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (FSA) they are promoting something called ‘World Investor Week’. Manx news needs to be anything these days that takes people's minds of starving or fuel poverty and MTTV and Manx Radio are cornering the market:

First week of V&A Dundee attracts more than 27,000 people

V&A Dundee opened its doors for the first time to the public on Saturday 15 September 2018. Scotland’s first design museum, V&A Dundee looks at the international importance of design and also presents Scotland’s design achievements. The museum's Scottish Design Galleries are a central feature, with hundreds of exhibits of Scottish design. Within these galleries is the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Oak Room, restored, conserved and reconstructed through a partnership between V&A Dundee, Glasgow Museums and Dundee City Council.

Manx contracts for Manx business and Manx jobs for Manx workers!

Do we really want ‘a ghastly Chamber of Commerce inspired feudal Statelet where the wealth of the Isle of Man continues to be stolen from its people by a small coterie abled assisted by COMIN (Council of Ministers)!’

As the Mec Vannin yesterday evening meeting drew to a close after several hours ruminating over the machinations of the Quayle government and its ‘Chamber buddies’ the direction for nationalism was tabled.

Creamery should concentrate on the day job not sucking up to the Chamber

I had one of my weekly sojourns into ‘the northlands’ today to stock up at the farm shop most relaxing. I love their produce which is tasty - par excellence! Carrots you would die for plus eggs that for once don’t defy the title ‘large’ unlike some you see on supermarket shelves.

It's a ‘help yourself and pay up in the honesty box’ operation. The only concession to the modern age is a CCTV camera I suppose that's inevitable. It does though make you hark back to an earlier time in Mann when there was more openness and trust.

Ship that sailed the Irish Sea brought back to life for Zombie experience

Zombies are quite frightening fictional creatures.  Dead people who have been brought back to life, but lose any of their old humanity. Popular in horror and fantasy genre works, they are often depicted attacking and eating human beings. Taking advantage of this fascination with the Zombie phenomana is the Zombie Infection company. They have decided to bring the TSS (Turbine Steam Ship) Duke of Lancaster back to life so that visitors can encounter the undead. The former passenger ferry used to sail between Heysham and Belfast in the 50s and 60s.
