REDADEG 2016 IN BRITTANY

It is a run where runners pass on the baton at every kilometres for 1700 kms, 8 days and through 300 towns. This represents the passing of the breton language. The funds that are collected will be used to fund Diwañ schools projects and other projects related to Breton (creches with breton immersion, plays, films, libraries, publications...).

News From The Celtic League:

Earlier this month the Celtic League provided information to a Cornish activist working to support families of the Bugaled Breizh which sank suddenly off the Lizard in January 2004.

A NATO exercise was underway at the time and with a large concentration of submarines in the area or on transit to it (not to mention potential Russian Federation submarines gathering intelligence and observing the exercise). Families of those lost have always had an open mind about the possibility the vessel was snagged by a submarine and sunk.

NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE

On the 14/15 January 2016 the French National Assembly rejected a proposal put forward by Breton ecologist parliamentarian Paul Molac supporting regional languages. Last year, France refused to ratify the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. The European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages (ECRML) is a European treaty aimed at protecting and promoting historical regional and minority languages in Europe.
