The Kernow Branch of the Celtic League has received a message of thanks from the mother at the centre of a dispute with her childrens’ school.

Anna James and her children hit the headlines a few weeks ago when she withdrew her children from Bishop Bronescombe Church of England School near Wadebridge in Cornwall, in order to attend the ancient ‘obby ‘oss’ celebration in Padstow, against the direction of the school’s head teacher.

The DOI (Waste Management Section) have responded to queries the Celtic League raised about the disposal of leachate to the Marine Environment from a disused landfill site on the west of the Isle of Man (see link):

One of the most remarkable things about the National (note I didn’t say nationalist) renaissance in Scotland is the manner in which news is now disseminated.

Faith in and the credibility of main stream media (MSM) is at an all time low.

No one, even some Unionists, now rate the BBC in Scotland and paradoxically it is only the SNP holding back from an all time assault on it that enables it to continue.

The launch of the so-called ‘Military Reserve’ Force on the Isle of Man got underway today with a media ‘offensive’.

Isle of Man: Nish as Rish Return from Successful Norwegian Tour

With groups on the Manx traditional music scene continuing to strengthen their ties with other countries, five-piece collective Nish as Rish has recently returned from a successful trip to Norway.

Nish as Rish was formed during 2009 whilst members of the group were busy studying at the University of York, including two musicians from the Isle of Man; Ruth Keggin (voice, flute and whistles) and Karl Kramer (mandolin, guitar and bodhran).

The Manx Nationalist Party Mec Vannin held its Annual General Meeting on Monday the 11th of May 2015 at St Patricks Hall in Peel.

Minutes of the 2014 AGM were read and agreed and reports from Officers presented.

It was recorded that the Party had an active year with regular monthly meetings held and the usual participation in Annual events such as Tynwald Day and Illiam Dhone Day had gone of smoothly.

With the news that the British Army would be recruiting for a “Manx Reserve” it wasn’t going to be long before Manx citizens expressed their objections to what amounts to a recruitment drive for a foreign army with a somewhat soiled reputation. Indeed, the Celtic League’s Director of Information, Bernard Moffatt, has already covered the matter in a local historical context, a moral historical context, and an administrative historical context.

In the same week that the Celtic League has called for international action to protect fishermen from increased NATO and Russian submarine war games a French court has closed a case on the Breton trawler, Bugaled Breizh, which sank off the Lizard in January 2004 with the loss of her five man crew.
