The Celtic League has started to receive feedback on our queries about the Police Consultation launched in the Isle of Man so called ‘civilianisation’.

Meanwhile we understand one of the areas that DHA may see as ripe for outsourcing is control and administration of the custody suite. It is understandably an area that if ‘civilianised’ at face value could free up more Police Officers for front line duties.

Fossilised Skeleton of Dinosaur Discovered on Welsh Beach

A fossilised skeleton of a theropod dinosaur has been discovered on a beach near Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan and has been donated to Amgueddfa Cymru (National Museum Wales). The discovery was made by Nick and Rob Hanigan from Llantwit Major who were fossil hunting along the Lavernock beach in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales after storms in spring 2014. The dinosaur was a distant cousin of Tyrannosaurus Rex and lived at the early part of the Jurassic Period 201 million years ago.

The Isle of Man Post Office has come up smelling of roses with the release of a special rose scented stamp to mark the centenary of the Isle of Man WI Federation.

This unusual set of six stamps depicts a selection of images, ranging from members of the current Isle of Man WI Chapter to some of the organisation's most famous campaigns during the past hundred years.
