DAIL ALLEGATIONS: WERE MANX FINANCIAL REGULATORS ASLEEP ON WATCH?

Over the years the Isle of Man financial sector has found itself embroiled in Irish political controversies periodically and despite a tightening of regulation it seems as if history is about to repeat itself.

Yesterday in the Dáil Independent TD, Mick Wallace, made allegations concerning monies connected to the NAMA programme in Ireland (National Asset Management Scheme) ending up in an account in the Isle of Man.

FRENCH UN PEACEKEEPERS IN CHILD ABUSE SCANDAL

United Nations Peacekeepers do a tremendous job world wide and the Celtic League have often commended their role, particularly the role of contingents from one of the Celtic countries, Ireland, many of whom have died defending the oppressed and the vulnerable. Indeed following this years Annual General Meeting I took the opportunity as DOI of the League to visit the memorial garden for Irish UN Peacekeeper at Arbour Hill Dublin.

The fate of the Irish language is, at this time, in the hands of a Government that is failing to protect Ireland’s culture. There are bad governments and good governments. Ireland’s Fine Gael/Labour administration falls into the bad category, particularly when it comes to the health of the Irish language. The problem is that the present Irish government has the ability to seriously damage the Irish language before they are consigned to history. – Transceltic’s Eibhlin O’Neill
