CONCERN AT LACK OF NGO CONSULTATION BY GOVERNMENTS

The Manx Branch of the Celtic League is to ask the General Secretary of the League to press the Irish, Manx , United Kingdom and French governments to ensure that they involve accredited Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in consultation prior to submitting reports to United Nations bodies.

The Celtic League is an accredited NGO with roster status to ECOSOC (The United Nations Economic and Social Council).

CHRONICLES CAMPAIGN TO BE RENEWED

The Manx Branch of the Celtic League at its monthly meeting in November urged a renewed effort by the General Council of the League to pressure both the British and Manx governments to ensure that the Chronicles of Man and the Isles are exhibited permanently in the Isle of Man

The medieval manuscript has been held for many years by the British Library although its ownership is disputed.

Our organisation is increasingly concerned at the way the public of Cornwall are being treated as second class citizens when compared to those resident in other parts of Great Britain.

‘The Cornish Research Landscape’ – Conference First for Cornish Language

The first annual Cornish language research conference is being held this month - 27th and 28th October - in Redruth with contributors from across the globe presenting research papers on an eclectic and interesting mix of linguistic and sociolinguistic themes.
