Postal workers struggle is our struggle

The postal workers Trade Union says it will fight cuts in services and according to the Manx Independent front page is even mulling over industrial action.

I reported on the meeting of workers discontented at possible changes in an earlier post (link at cdn):

I pointed out that in my experience as a Trade Union Officer the postal workers were always the first to lend support in the days when secondary industrial action was still allowed. Amongst other they supported Tanker Drivers, Engineering Workers, Construction Workers and Brewery and Hotel staff during disputes. Even after the secondary action was outlawed they turned away from DHA HQ when Firefighters and their families held a brief protest

I hope now they face difficulties that Island Trade Unions and more importantly the public will support them. I know at the next meeting of Mec Vannin I will be urging the Party to adopt a resolution of FULL support to the postal workers.
