FOI - Like herding cats!

The great disappearing data mystery reported by IOM Today does seem to have something to do with Manx Radio if the graphic rich construction to this link on Crown Dependency News is anything to fo by (link):

Of course being CDN they simply report the item - no flights of fancy here this is the thinking man's Facebook site.Still it intrigues me what with Manx Radio, FOI and Paul Moulton all in the mix - will anyone explain the mystery? I feel sure that IOM Newspapers will have more in due course they have a crusading zeal over FOI at the moment.

On an related point who would be the Information Commissioner? Iain McDonald the current incumbent must have an unenviable task as people swirl around post FOI searching for this and that - like herding cats. It's almost like when (some of) the Kremlin archives were opened but I imagine the information that government keep on file (i.e what they were not able to trash before FOI came in) is pretty anodyne or droll stuff.

Of course there were loads of juicy titbits associated with the institutions of the Manx government over the decades but I would wager a fair bit of it went up the chimney of that furnace the DHPP (now DOI) used to operate down Hills Meadow. Sometimes apparently it was going from dawn to dusk and the information to be trashed was backed up

Ironic really that just yards from what was then the new Peel Road HQ of Isle of Man newspapers all those years ago enough information was going up the chimney to have kept Richard Butt and subsequent Editors in scoops for life. Fate is a bugger!

As for Manx Radio and the great FOI story of 2018 well who really cares!
