Dinas Powys Castle are the remains of a Norman site with a rectangular tower, and exterior wall. The castle is first recorded in about 1200 and was said to be in ruins by the early sixteenth century. In addition to the later timber and earth fortress there are also remains of a previous fortification dating back to the Iron Age. The site is off the A4055 at Dinas Powys towards Barry - Y Barri from Cardiff - Caerdydd.
