Sennen - Sen Senan

Sennen/Sen Senan is a village close to Lands Ends. The church is dedicated to St Sinninus with the  present church building dating back to the thirteenth. The church here was founded in 520 AD..

Our visit

We visited on a windy March afternoon. It is located on the west of the Penwith peninsula and subject to the prevailing winds from the Atlantic. The Cornish flag of St Piran flew proudly close by to the church of Saint Sennen. There has been a church on this site since the sixth century. The present building mostly dates from the thirteenth century. The church is dedicated to St Sinninus, said to be an Irish abbot who had travelled to Rome with St Patrick and arrived in Cornwall at the same time as St Breage.
