Is this an unpaid advertorial?

I see this on Manx Radio News and right adjacent online is their we love the Chamber of Commerce strapline:

I muse is this an unpaid advertorial. Indeed does the Isle of Man population really care that five guys who seem to be some sort of advert for differing styles of ‘pilot shirt’ have come together!

I don’t like the construction industry I worked in it for years at the sharp end its grasping and greedy and discourages Union organisation. For years it was also the epitome of bad health and safety although it has I’m told cleaned up its act now.

Back in the days when we had a construction branch in the old TGWU the much maligned David Quirk (later an MHK) used to take a camera with him when he went recruiting or organising construction sites it was a necessary accoutrement.

I don’t doubt that ‘pilot shirt men’ are all nice people intent on doing good for themselves, the Island, the world and their fellow men (especially construction people) but for me this story has a hollow ring. Its Manx Radio at its worst and that says something!
