MTTV interview the Christopher Lee of egaming'

“If you say we’re not going to have it it will be displaced somewhere else”. That’s the view of the front man for the Chamber of Commerce ( hang on I should have said Chief Minister) when asked about the morality of an industry that ruins tens of thousands of lives globally each year:

We are doing nicely out of it says Howard everything in the garden is rosy and people are buying houses and building HQs in the teens of millions. So that's ok then.

Howard avers he is sort of an expert on egaming so much so that the United Kingdom has copied the ideas that Howard oversaw in the days he was political Czar of egaming.

Howard is looking increasingly manic and the inflective grimaces which are the feature of most MTTV interviews seem to become more sinister by the day. Even Moulton appears to lean back at times as Howard comes across as a kind of egaming Christopher Lee.

Around the room are the usual suspects. I even think I catch sight of one of ‘the two Ronnies’ at one point (not shy Ronnie the other one) obviously he has heard of Howard’s egaming expertise and come along to get some ideas so he can make another trillion.

KPMG are hosting the event which seems decidedly down at heel with just water and a sweety to sustain them all as they marvel at Howards oratory.

At one point Daphne Caine MHK hoves into view. Daphne the patron Saint of feral goats and refugees at an egaming event how can this be? Maybe she thought it was a Friends of Syria or Save the Children event.

I really should not write this stuff while having a cup of tea because when Howard waxes lyrical about the industry support for GAMCARE the gambling addiction support body I almost choke. It's a bit like the owner of a ‘knocking shop’ giving a donation to the STD clinic each month.

Of course some people would aver that folk want to gamble so they should facilitate it as for the most part it does no harm but the same argument is advanced in countries that allow the sex trade and that doesn’t in my book make it right.

As usual these messages that spew out of the meda are unbalanced and the end result is we live in ‘a Neverland of jiggery pokery’ but its all above board so that's ok!
