Llangadog Castle - Castell Llangadog

Llangadog Castle (Castell Llangadog) is a motte and bailey earthwork dating back to the twelfth century. The site can be seen from a footpath and the road. It is situated at Llangadog on the A4069 southwest of Llandovery toward Llandeilo.

Our visit

We visited in Autumn. Not an easy site to find, but it gave us an excuse to visit the nearby Castle Hotel (not that we normally need excuses)! After a friendly pint, a chat and directions we went to the site which is behind the village common and close to a footpath. There are no sign posts to the site.
