Margaret Skinnider fought with the Irish Citizen Army during the Rising and was noted as a sniper. Seriously injured during the battle which raged across Dublin she survived.
Skinnider, from Coatbridge in West Scotland was a radical feminist and continued her activism in Ireland after the 26 Counties gained independence she became a teacher and was heavily involved in the Irish Trade Union movement. She is buried in Glasnevin cemetery close to many of her colleagues.
