Yn Chruinnaght 2012 - Celtic festival

Watch highlights of this year's Yn Chriunnnaght - the eight day Celtic festival on Isle of Man. Artists came from all the Celtic nations and beyond, including such internationally renowned artists as Rua Macmillan from Scotland and Forzh Penaos from Brittany. Performances were held at venues across the island, both inside and out.

First day: July 14, 2012

Asturian music, Irish dancing, Manx dancing and more.

 

Second day: July 15, 2012

Day time performances at Mooragh Park, Ramsey, Isle of Man: Manx dancing with Ny Fennee and Irish dancing with Rinceori an Chlair. Evening performances at Gaiety Theatre, Douglas, Isle of Man: Manx band Barrule joined by Greg Joughin and Scottish band Blazin' Fiddles.

 

Fourth day: July 17, 2012

Performances by Manx artists: Clare Kilgallon and Annie Kissack; Ruby Biscoe Taylor and Beccy Hurst; Scammylt; Erika Kelly and Malcolm Stitt.

 

Fifth day: July 18, 2012

Manx dancing and audience dancing to Cornish band Pentorr.

 

Sixth day: July 19, 2012

Cornwall's Richard Trethewey; The Manx Harpers; Welsh artists Caryl Parry and Christian Jones; and Cornish band Pentorr.

 

Seventh day: July 20, 2012

Manx band Strengyn; and Scottish fiddle player Rua Macmillan with Tia Fyles and Adam Brown.

 

Eighth and Final day, featuring Forzh Penaos: July 20, 2012

Manx band Nish as Rish, winners of Trophée Loik Raison for the best new band at Festival Interceltique Lorient 2011, Brittany. Breton band Forzh Penaos.
