Cymru: Tesco in spat over bi-lingual signage

News from the Celtic League:

The Welsh language group Cymdeithas yr Iaith is targeting Tesco over the adequacy of bi-lingual signage in their new Aberystwyth store.

A spokesman for the language groups said:

“Big businesses such as this undermine independent businesses, and decisions made centrally by the company undermine the Welsh nature of the town.”

Final Chance to Say NO to Devonwall!

On 5th December, 2016, the unelected quango, the Boundaries Commission will stop taking public views on Devonwall.

Between now and then is YOUR last chance to join hundreds of others, including Town and Parish Councils, campaign groups, Cornwall Councillors and many other members of the public who have objected to this gerrymandering of Cornwall's 1,100 year old border.

Please take this opportunity to register your disapproval!

Beavers return to Scotland encourages Welsh wildlife campaigners

Welsh wildlife campaigners have welcomed the Scottish government announcement last week that the Eurasian beaver is to be formally recognised as a native species, four centuries after being hunted to extinction in Scotland. Lead partners in the Scottish Beaver Trial, the Scottish Wildlife Trust and the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) hailed the decision as a major success story for conservation.

Protest outside office of Cornish MP

News from Kernow Matters To Us:

Kernow

22 November 2016

Today's protest outside the Liskeard Constituency Office of Sherryl Murray MP.

It is a very rare occasion indeed that people in Cornwall stand outside an MPs office and protest about that sitting MP.

Organised by a group of individuals at short notice, we suggest that although the number was relatively small, the massive social and mainstream media expressions of disgust at this MP added to this little demonstration should act as a clear warning to Cornwall's MPs.

Loyalty & patriotism is for life, not just a fad Sherryl Murray MP!

A big thank you to Cornwall's Town & Parish Councils!

News from Kernow Matters To Us:

During October, 2016, 'Kernow Matters To Us' (KMTU) wrote to all 213 Town and Parish Councils in Cornwall asking them to join with us in the stand against the unlawful imposition of a cross border Westminster parliamentary constituency on Cornwall, a silly proposal made by the unelected quango, the Boundary Commission and now widely referred to as 'Devonwall'.
