Scottish Secretary David Mundell Fails to Give Convincing Answer On Smear Campaign Scandal

David Mundell who is the current Scottish Secretary gave a very evasive 'answer' about any involvement he might have had in the smear campaign against SNP Leader and Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon. Prior to the General Election the Scottish National Party were riding high in the opinion polls. Nicola Sturgeon, Scotland's First Minister and Scottish National Party leader was becoming increasingly popular. It was clear the British establishment and their friends in the media were panicked. There then began a smear campaign against Scotland's First Minister.

Did ‘Smeargate’ go further than Alistair Carmichael and his aide? Well according to David Mundell, current Scottish Secretary, it did not.

Mundell should be in the know as he worked in the Scottish Office with Carmichael at the time that Carmichael launched the carefully planned attempt to discredit SNP Leader and Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, which has since ‘blown up in his face’.

Gaffe prone Lib Dem peer Sir Malcolm Bruce is almost certainly the last man you would want on your side in a crisis.

Today on the BBC he said that all MPs including Ministers and Prime Ministers lie and if they all had to resign it would clear out the House of Commons.

He was speaking out ‘in support’ of embattled ‘Smeargate’ Lib Dem MP Alistair Carmichael.
