To protect the individual and collective rights of its people." Resolutions and statement by Mec Vannin can be seen below:

This AGM:
Calls on the DHA to instruct both the Fire Service and Police force to use Manx language signage more prominently on both premises and vehicles.
This AGM:

This AGM
Calls upon DEFA to declare a moratorium on the implementation of 5G wireless communication while health and environmental concerns persist.
The Resolutions illustrate the grave concern with which Mec Vannin views the direction being driven by the government.
What has happened to the "caring and prosperous society" ideal of several governments past? Although it didn't actually materialise for most (perhaps it was just an aspiration), but we didn't need food banks then! There was at least some sense of humanity about how the public was treated. Discretion and common sense were not out of bounds in those days. There seems to have been a definite sea change introduced since those days, to a cost cutting, hard nosed ethos and way of dealing with matters of governance. This has had dire affects on those on low incomes. Poverty creates vulnerability with a consequent increase n the population unable to cope.
The Isle of Man may not be big in geography or population, but it could be a great nation and show the world the way, if there was a will to do it! That brings to mind a saying by Lao Tzu, the ancient Chinese Taoist philosopher - He said you should govern a nation as you would cook a small fish. A caring, humanitarian quality is one for which the Manx population is renowned and justly proud. Our institutions, paid for from public funds, should be reflecting public concerns.
How can we be proud of this "biosphere" nation, if the top person in government thinks the scientists and Sir David Attenborough are incorrect about the urgency of looking after our environment? Sir David said in interview that it was difficult to overstate the urgency of action that needs to be taken if we are to avoid eco-disaster on this planet. It's the only one we have! Mec Vannin was concerned forty years ago. Our environmental policy can be found at https://www.mecvannin.im
