The Chamber - New 'Stride's for Howard and 'Pilgrims Choice'!

‘In Iran the mullahs and their self interest and ideologically based agenda are destroying the economy in the Isle of Man we have the Chamber.’

The Chamber of Commerce will be holding their AGM shortly and in keeping with their new less showy and pushy style these days things seem to have been toned down. For example their will only to a two course meal but thanks to Isle of Man Creameries they shouldn’t to hungry as a cheese board is chucked in.

I don’t know if it's me but the Chamber don’t seem as ostentatious as they were becoming during the Bell regime which was kind of the ‘Elizabethan Age’ of the body. They are in my view still a menace but then I’ve loathed them for almost four decades. In fact their web pages induce an outbreak of tourette’s in me.

The Chamber AGM is just a chance to reshuffle the deck about personnel wise and ensure that all the interest groups are adequately represented. Well I say ALL but the interests of the vast bulk of people on the Isle of Man are not the Chambers interests and your situation is going to get worse and their members continue to get better you can bet on that.

Of course none of this type of heresy will be reported by the mainstream media because all of it is signed up to their agenda indeed most of it are members. I see that those lame brains on Douglas Head are still bleating about how proud they are of their Chamber credentials so tell me can we ever expect objectivity there - answers on a postcard.

In Iran the mullahs and their self interest and ideologically based agenda are destroying the economy in the Isle of Man we have the Chamber. The government almost seems to take its orders from the Chamber and as if to emphasise that the Chief Minister will be along to the meeting as a supporting act. I suppose if nothing else we should see Howard Quayle in a new set of ‘stride’s’ for the event given his sartorial consciousness of late - another mundanity for Moulton at MTTV to comment on!

The obsequios adherence of successive Chief Ministers to the Chamber agenda and the acceptance that government are some sort of supporting act also infuriates me but then I get infuriated easily these days. I feel so angry I may even turn up to the Claremont to eat a symbolic cheese sandwich outside but it won’t be IOM Creameries cheese it will be ‘Pilgrims Choice’.
