Faskally Wood is located on the north shore of Loch Faskally about I mile (1.6km) north-west of Pitlochry, Perthshire (Scottish Gaelic Baile Chloichridh, Siorrachd Pheairt) in central Scotland. An annual event takes place at Faskally that has grown over the years into an important part of Scotland's autumnal calendar known as the "The Enchanted Forest". It is an internationally acclaimed and multi-award winning sound and light event, lasting four weeks that attracts over 800,000 visitors to the area every year.
Set against the atmospheric forest backdrop, the spectacularly lit pathways wind through the woods and by Loch Dunmore and all to the accompaniment of an original music score. A driving motivation in the event is to connect people with nature. Each year has a different theme and this year it is "Cosmos". Inspired by the idea of looking up through the canopy of Faskally Wood's autumn leaves at the planets and stars. Accompanied by the creative talents of Zoë Squair as creative producer, Kate Bonney and Simon Hayes (lighting designers) with RJ McConnell, Jon Beales and Rachel Cullen (sound designers). This year’s show dates are: Thursday 3rd October – Sunday 3rd November 2019. Further details can be obtained on The Enchanted Forest website.
