Faery Battles Intensify On the Isle of Man - Faery Investigation Society Launches Census

The UK Sunday Express reports that The Faery Investigation Society of London is in the process of conducting a worldwide census.  Under the headline “Forget the Tales, Now its Fairies with an Attitude”, the Express reports that the census, initiated in November, has logged over 450 respondents reporting on various Faery populations. The link to the census form is posted below.

The Faery Investigation Society was founded in 1927 and was active until World War II, lapsed for a period of time and was again active from the 1950’s until again falling dormant in the 1990’s.  The Society, whose membership roll once included Walt Disney and Hugh Dowding, the hero of the Battle of Britain, was comprised of “Faery Believers” according to the group’s website.  In 2013 the Society was again launched but in a departure from its long history now welcomes anyone with an interest in “Fairy Lore” rather than a belief in Faeries.

In July of this year Transceltic reported on disturbance on the Isle of Man involving the Little People of Man versus a renegade band of Irish trooping Faeries. The Irish band were blown off course when caught in a gale off of Donegal‘s Malin Head (Cionn Mhalanna) ending up as unwelcome visitors washed ashore on the Manx coast. A group of Manx Little People, disturbed and alarmed by the incursion, launched ferocious attacks on the Irish trooping Band from their stronghold on Snaefell, Man’s highest mountain.

We at Transceltic are continuing our investigation into this unfolding situation on the Isle of Man and will be issuing a series of reports in the upcoming months.  However we are prepared to report that a long standing schism within the ranks of the Manx Faeries is a contributing factor to the ferocious conflict now taking place between the Donegal Faeries and the Snaefells. Preliminary reports suggest that the conflict has escalated to the point that the power unleashed in the battles has rented an opening to the Otherworld over the wetlands at Ballaugh Curraghs.

The schism within the Manx Faery community is based on a 1922 encounter between a group of Manx Little People and a team of Faery investigators on the slopes of Snaefell.  In the account of the sightings by Geoffrey Hodson first published by the Theosophical Publishing House and now posted to the Faery Investigation Society web site, there is a detailed physical description of the Snaefell Faeries. The hierarchy of the Little People of Man, concentrated in the remote Bradda Mooar in the Southwest of Man, were enraged that the Snaefell band had allowed themselves to be seen and began ruthless retaliatory raids against them in retribution.  Over the years the Snaefell band were at times close to being annihilated but fought back against the Bradda Mooar and over the ensuing decades have transformed themselves from the gentle somnambulists described in Hodson’s ill-fated account, into a race of ferocious Faery warriors who have grown in strength and power and it is this new race of Faery Warriors who first encountered the Donegal Trooping Band.

In addition we are following up on reports just received that the Bradda Mooar Litle People from the southwest have allied themselves with the renegade Donegal band joining forces agianst their long long time enemies, the Snaefells, who have mutated into such formidable opponents that they now threaten the security of all the Faeries of Man. If this is in fact what has actually happened, it increases the volatility of an already serious situation.

Transceltic will be issuing updates on the Faery disturbances on the Isle of Man in the near future.
