We are pleased to note that the Council of Europe (please note, this is not the European Union) has been critical of the Westminster Government regarding support for the Cornish and indeed, other languages and has made a number of recommendations of note.
Focussing on Cornish, a report by the Council of Europe promulgated today informs:
"The study and promotion of Cornish in public life should be prioritised, with Cornwall Council given full membership of the British Irish Council, the body founded under the Good Friday agreement to promote cooperation among all the governments of the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands."
We are in frequent communication with the Council of Europe concerning the ineptitude of the current Westminster Government, possibly the most incompetent in at least a century, and are pleased that some of our concerns are being reflected.
