Alf networking the Conservative conference!

The Manx Treasury Minister Alf Cannan MHK seems intent on spoiling my day. This photo of him at the Conservative conference induced a bout of laughter in me which was most unpleasant as I have an irritated throat at present.

Alf is ‘hanging out’ with former Minister Nicky Morgan MP. Morgan is a somewhat controversial figure as the attached Wiki entry shows. She seems to have downers on more groups than your average Manx Radio talk show host.

Bizarrely when Equalities Minister Ms Morgan seems to have had difficulty accepting the concept of same sex marriage although apparently in more recent years her views have modified. She also received a rebuke from the UK Statistics Authority over some ‘stats’ she provided to parliament.

However for me Morgan will always be famous for the cancelled appearance on HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU. Programme organisers most disrespectfully substituted ‘a handbag for’ the MP an allusion to the fact that Nicky was to handbags what Imelda Marcos is to shoes!

All in all a somewhat confusing and confused politician no doubt her and Alf will have got on famously.
