Pomposity in 'the portal'

As I predicted yesterday ‘the W C Fields of Manx Politics’ turned up on cue in ‘the portal’ to tell us black is white over inflation.

Even in the UK inflation is on the increase while here via a variety of devices and mechanisms that would even have the late Tommy Cooper gazing in awe its going down.

Thomas confirms that means your wages and pension increase will go down as well - another thing I predicted. That is what this charade is about because as any sensible economic theorist would tell you an Island of our population sample size and influenced increasingly by external factors cannot produce an accurate indicator of inflation. The views of commentators on Celtic League Mannin news about the prices they see on their weekly shop are more accurate and yet this bilge spews out from Manx Radio. The report of course is unbalanced. I have visions of a man crossing Niagara Falls with an anvil on the end of his balancing pole when I think of Manx media ‘balance’.

Chris of course has a background in economics so who better placed to tell us ‘how well’ things are going.

For me however, and I suspect many others, COMIN and especially Alf Cannan and Thomas have gone beyond the threshold of belief. Anecdotally I hear people are experiencing great difficulty. By people I don’t mean the Chamber of Chancers or the Athol Street mob they on the contrary are doing very nicely. Incomes for the fiscal vultures will increase while for the man in the street more misery beckons!
