Bellygate & Councillor Dulcue Tudor-more questions than answers?

Firstly, we clearly and openly say that we at 'Kernow Matters To Us' do not condone or in any way support nasty, offensive or threatening images or emails sent to any individual, yet alone members of Cornwall or other Councils or public authorities.

It is now a matter of public record that Cornwall Councillor Dulcie TUDOR, a Liberal Democrat party member representing Threemilestone and Gloweth, referred to some protestors outside Cornwall Council who recently peacefully and democratically expressed their deep held concerns about what they perceived to be the overdevelopment and urbanisation of Cornwall as being from the 'sinister underbelly of Cornish nationalists'.

Her spoken comments were aired several times on BBC Radio Cornwall.

Up to a dozen complaints were sent to Cornwall Council and subsequently a requirement was placed on the Councillor to apologise for two breaches of the Council's Code of Conduct.

Councillor TUDOR then did the rounds of local media stating that she refused POINT BLANK to comply with the requirement to apologise alleging that she had received nasty and unpleasant emails including those of men's 'bellies' of which she expressed shock and disgust.

The newspapers and media outlets covering her allegation also clearly stated that she had received 'gross pictures of mens' bellies'

The interview covering this allegation was shown on many local media sources and placed onto 'You Tube' and part way through she appeared to be reduced to tears at the emails received. She showed the cameras photographs of two men's bellies and intimated that this caused her distress.

At this stage, let us remind you that these 'belly' photographs occurred after her very public comments and not before.

Since her very public refusal to apologise, team members from 'Kernow Matters To Us' have been copied in on emails sent to members of the public by Councillor TUDOR well before her initial comments and in our judgement these are both impolite and blunt.

Indeed, one email we have seen suggests that a member of the public was too afraid of her to pursue any complaint for fear of repercussions.

'Kernow Matters To Us' has also received an email from Liberal Democrat Councillor TUDOR accusing our campaign group of being 'xenophobic'.

We may be proud Cornish folks and supporters from all over, but we assure one and all that we are far from being 'xenophobic'.

We have now also examined the photographs shown to the press where Councillor TUDOR says 'belly' photographs were emailed to her.

Perhaps we examined them a little closer than journalists who briefly glimpsed them during her filmed statement made in their presence?

Two photographs allegedly emailed to her are screen shots clearly taken from social media sites, at least one from 'Instagram' and one of them a spoof 'Facebook' page set up since her initial outburst on BBC Radio Cornwall .

The photographs she claims were emailed to her, show borders, symbols and other items which clearly reveal these are such screen shots.

Now, through enquiries made, we have identified the owner of one of the 'bellies' and established beyond all doubt that he had not emailed Councillor TUDOR with a photograph of his stomach but had posted it on 'Facebook' from where it had apparently been lifted by cut and paste method. Indeed, this individual has NEVER emailed Councillor TUDOR.

An examination of the bellies show nothing worse than what we all witness on Cornwall's beaches during the tourist season.

With this information, we ask all to consider just how they might think the photographs made it onto her mobile phone ready to be shown to the media.

Remember, we can prove beyond doubt that the owner of one of those photographs posted it on social media but never emailed it to Councillor TUDOR.

We invite Councillor TUDOR to reveal the email addresses from which she has received these photographs whilst remembering that for sure, one of the owners of such a belly has NEVER contacted her.

Now, we do understand that some may be offended when viewing the picture of a man's stomach, even a 'well furnished' one. Apparently this is the case with Councillor TUDOR.

That all said, we were surprised when bearing in mind her apparent sensibilities, to see the attached photograph displayed on her Facebook site and shared by her to a friend with the words' "you'll appreciate this road sign in Scarborough"

We attach a screen shot we have taken of the image below.

Read into it what you will but we are sure that any thinking person will realise what the image might be construed to resemble.

Perhaps it may be merely images of mens' 'bellies' which are found to be offensive by Councillor TUDOR. Imagine therefore our surprise to also find a film on her 'Facebook' page depicting, well you guessed it, a man's belly accompanied by her comment, "It is funny."

Here's a screenshot we have taken of that.

Again, let us repeat that we do not condone nasty emails sent to anyone, if indeed the they were sent, we do not condone indecent photographs, if indeed they are indecent, and we do not condone those who fake sensibilities and shock when in fact there is none to be had.

Now, let's talk again about that public apology shall we Councillor TUDOR?
