Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum

Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum is located at the birthplace of Andrew Carnegie in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland (Scottish Gaelic: Dun Pharlain, Fìobha, Alba). The Museum is located in Moodie Street which is in the Heritage Quarter of Dunfermline, a short distance from Dunfermline Palace and Abbey. The museum allows you to look at the humble beginnings of someone who was to become one of the worlds richest men. Tracing his emigration to America in the 19th century and his success in business and subsequent philanthropist endeavours. There are also other craft and arts exhibitions at the museum.

Andrew Carnegie (November 25, 1835 – August 11, 1919) was a Scottish-American industrialist and philanthropist. He was an important figure in the expansion of the American steel industry in the late 19th century. He was to become one of the richest Americans in history. He is also noted for his philanthropy having, during the last 18years of his life, given almost 90 percent of his fortune to a variety of causes including to many charities, foundations, and universities.
