A much needed development. Let's hope it is successful.

UPDATE: My effusive optoimisim over the new development reported here is dashed as Paul Moulton says its archive material. Like politicians even journos have a 'hol' at this time of year it seems, I wonder now if the latest site plans will go unrealised - oh woe!

The Manx News is pretty pauce at present, Even the high point of my week which is a ‘Oval office’ session between ‘the Chief’ (as Manx Radio describe him) Howard Quayle MHK and Paul Moulton of MTTV doesn't materialise. I sink into a state of depression thinking no words of wisdom from ‘the great man’ until the politicians hols are over.

MTTV has an item with Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly MHK about the proposals for the old Marine Biological Station site (link):

It's been a blight on the landscape for sometime and appreciating as I do the charm of Port Erin Bay I was pleased when I heard the news of the development. Skelly is obviously pleased to, going by the interview, not only is it a much needed economic boost but it's also on his home turf on which all MHKs like to shine.

Moulton taks the gloss of it somewhat by pressing the questions and it turns out the scheme as predicated is to progress in various phases with the first funding the next etc. Skelly avers there is no public money involved so lets hope the progression is seamless.

A sensitive development of this type multi faceted and tucked in by the rock face at a site that has been a blight for sometime has to be a plus. Lets hope it makes it!
