"A DYING LANGUAGE SPOKEN FLUENTLY BY FEWER THAN 1000 PEOPLE"

....well that's according to a review of 'Le Kov', newly released album of fabulous musical talent, Cornish speaking Gwenno, carried by the widely read newspaper, 'The London Evening Standard'.

and a photo of the newspaper's print edition is attached. It was flagged to us by several of our followers on our flagship Facebook site, 'The Cornish are a Nation' who were annoyed by this latest 'dying language' put down, so beloved by the Anglo centric media and anti Cornish trolls.

In an otherwise glowing article, the author of the piece could not resist a twist of the knife and a temptation to use a well worn and aggravating phrase.

Where do these journalists get "dying" from, other than wishful thinking? It's GROWING! The number of people who are able to use competent Cornish today equates to around 12% of the total number of native speakers who existed at any one given moment since Norman times. The many classes are chockful of students wanting to learn it - classes not only in Cornwall but elsewhere including in Cardiff and London as well as overseas.

The press would have been shocked to hear a song sung in Cornish by about 500 schoolchildren on St Pirans Day, Cornwall's National Day on March 5th annually in Penzance. It was so good, they sang it in rounds - heart-warming to hear so many young voices singing in their native tongue.

It's high time the English press noted this fact!
