Canadian tax justice body christens Mann the ‘Isle of Sham’!

We have reported on the CBC - KPMG - IOM Tax evasion allegations previously.

The link below is to a well researched CBC 20 minute documentary which covers the whole saga to date.

It looks as if the affair is set to run as the allegations are now starting to embroil the Canadian government.

The government’s investment in Welsh medium instruction at the University level is yielding dividends. Taken together, recent developments at Welsh Universities show acceleration in the status and reach of the Celtic tongue at institutions of Higher Learning in Wales.

Yesterday (Monday 21 September). a well known Breton politician and leader of the ‘Oui la Bretagne’ (Yes Brittany) movement was in Wales for an official reception at the Senedd (Welsh Assembly) in Caerdydd/Cardiff.

Christian Troadec, Mayor of Karez (Carhaix) picture) was welcomed by Plaid Cymru AM Lord Dafydd Elis Thomas, who was leader of Plaid Cymru between 1984 and 1991 and the first ever President of the Welsh Assembly in 1999 following the referendum on devolution of 1997.

It appears the UK media and political parties cannot miss an opportunity to attack or demonise Alex Salmond.

Despite the fact Salmond is one of those rare creatures in politicians ‘a man of principle’ (remember he stood down immediately after the narrow referendum defeat) and has moved on since passing the SNP ‘mantle’ to Nicola Sturgeon it appears his detractors cannot.

Secretary General Slams Schools Recruitment

The Secretary General of the Celtic League has written to the First Minister of Wales to express concern about military recruitment in schools.

The move comes as the Welsh Assembly plan to consider the issue.

Similar correspondence is to be targeted at leaders in the other Celtic countries.

News from The Celtic League

The Celtic League have written to the DOI Director of Ports asking what monies are paid by the UK Ministry of Defence for the use by RAF training aircraft which use Ronaldsway regularly.

Hawk trainers from the RAF Valley base utilise the airport on a regular basis and additionally larger types such as Hercules transports have used the airport.

The training generally involves ‘non touch down’ approach and take-off techniques.

Now here is something that stuffed shirted bewigged Manx Deemsters, apparently perpetually anchored in the 19th century, had better not hope catches on in the Isle of Man.

Integrity Ireland (I-I) which was set up to campaign against judicial malfeasance and ‘encourage openness, transparency and justice in Irish State institutions’ - especially in ‘policing, the legal profession and the Courts’ mounted something of a coup earlier this month in the Courtroom at Castlebar in Co Mayo (see link):
