Astonishing poll results revealed by Cornish magazine!

In an astonishing poll conducted of its readership and followers on social media, 'myCornwall' magazine established that 37.71% favoured independence for Cornwall (that it withdraw from the UK and becomes an independent country) 52.38% favoured devolution for Cornwall (increased powers to a democratically elected assembly/parliament like London, Wales, Scotland) and 9.91% favoured the status quo (Cornwall remains as it is with a unitary authority) 76.2% of the readers and followers stated that they required a referendum!

All fellow Celtic peoples, comrades and friends are invited to sign and spread this petition for Cornwall!

We invite one and all to sign this petition and to pass it around your family and friends for them to sign as well. Each person may sign it individually and it doesn't matter where you live. It doesn't have to be in Cornwall.

Cornish library project captures public imagination

Redruth Cornish Language Group which meets at the Melting Pot Café, Krowji, the former Redruth Grammar School in Cornwall has been adding to its extensive collection of books written in the Cornish language and is now pleased to allow the public restricted access to the library whilst they visit the café.

The library was the idea of a Bard of Gorsedh Kernow and a member of the Cornwall Branch of the Celtic League who combined their talents to raise the funds and to publicise the collection.

Latest news on formal recognition of the Cornish

A recent communication received by the Secretary of the Cornwall Branch of the Celtic League is immensely revealing.

There has been a long running campaign in Cornwall and elsewhere to have the Cornish people who are one of the indigenous peoples of Britain included in the European Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities (FCPNM). If this were the case then certain basic legal protections would be afforded to the Cornish people wherever they are.

The Kernow Branch of the Celtic League has taken their concerns about the alleged mismanagement of an historic site in Cornwall to a United Nations (UN) organisation, as part of a long running campaign.

St Piran's Day, Redruth, Kernow

St Piran's Day falls on March 5th annually and is more widely celebrated by Cornwall and the Cornish now than ever before. Redruth is first off the mark this year with its huge procession and celebration of Cornwall's National Saint and as it falls on St David's Day, daffodils are going to figure in the day.
