New Poll Points to Landslide Win For Scottish National Party in Labour Held Seats

With campaigning firmly under way for the United Kingdom General Election on May 7 a new opinion poll spells more gloom for the Labour Party in Scotland. With just over a month to go before the vote the Comres poll for ITV (a commercial TV network in the United Kingdom) looked at the Labour-held seats in Scotland. Opinion polls have consistently shown the SNP on course for a landslide in Scotland. The ITV poll puts their vote up 24.1%, with 43% of the Scottish electorate backing the party.

Democracy in Scotland versus English hyprocrisy

Not surprising to see English hypocrisy spewing over the border. After spending years prior to the Scottish independence referendum pleading for Scotland to stay in the Union and remain an integral part in UK politics, now we see the Scottish electorate spat on and despised. We are now told, through the English controlled media, including the British Broadcasting Corporation (for British read English) that Scottish MPs are second-class in the British parliament.

Labour Party set to be driven out of Scotland as opinion polls show massive swing to SNP

The swing away from the Labour Party towards the SNP (Scottish National Party) ahead of the UK General Election on May 7th continues to gain momentum. The days when the Labour Party could arrogantly depend on votes from their old Scottish heartlands has gone. Deservedly so, because Scottish Labour has shown itself to be no more than minor branch of the London based Labour Party. They have proven themselves to have absolutely no loyalty whatsoever to Scotland.

Gloom laden Scottish Labour continue to lose support to Scottish National Party

Scottish Labour continue to lose support to the Scottish National Party (Scottish Gaelic: Pàrtaidh Nàiseanta na h-Alba) - SNP. They had hoped that a change of leadership would see some improvement in their fortunes. However, the figures from the recent Ashcroft Polls- an in depth research into selected Scottish constituencies, presents a very gloomy picture for Labour.

Scottish Labour Party ditches all claims of loyalty to Scotland

An interesting item on the Scottish website ‘Wings Over Scotland’ about the Scottish Labour Party. It seems Labour can’t ditch the idea of being Scottish or having any loyalty to the nation of Scotland quick enough. This truth comes out after they tried to pretend to the Scottish voters at the time of the referendum on independence that they were very loyal and proud Scots! However, at the time they were stabbing Scotland in the back by opposing a free and independent Scotland.

Young New Zealand musician seeks Celtic connections and Scotland welcomes Jake Cropley

As reported in the New Zealand newspaper The Ortago Times: 'Jake Cropley has no Celtic ancestry, but that is not stopping the 18-year-old from helping New Zealand forge stronger cultural links with Scotland.

The Dunedin singer/songwriter jets off to Glasgow and Edinburgh today for six days to perform at the prestigious Celtic Connections Music Festival and Neu Reekie Burns On Fire event'

Scottish Labour Party reveal their incompetence on North Sea oil yet again

Scottish Labour have spent years telling Scottish voters that the SNP (Scottish National Party) proposal of setting up an oil fund was a stupid idea. They continued with this position during the Scottish referendum campaign on independence. This, of course, was when treacherous Labour sided with the Tory and Lib Dem's to oppose Scottish independence. Now, low and behold, with the fall in oil prices Labour has called for the setting up of a “resilience fund” to cushion the blow caused by falling prices. For “resilience fund” please read "oil fund"!

Poll shows Scottish believe stronger SNP is better for Scotland

Opinion Polls show a big rise in support for the Scottish National Party (SNP) while Labour plunges. An ICM poll for The Guardian newspaper suggested the Labour Party was in meltdown in Scotland ahead of next years UK General Election, while SNP support has more than doubled. Compared to the 2010 UK General Election the SNP's support has climbed from 20% to 43% (+23). Labour has gone down to 26% (-16), the Conservatives stand at 13% (-4) and Liberal Democrats 6% (-13).
