The Celtic year is divided by the four annual Celtic Feast Days which are celebrated on the first of the month: the November Celtic New Year of Samhain (Halloween), Imbolg which was also the Feast Day of the Celtic Goddess Brigid in February, the May Spring Festival of Beltane and the August Harvest Festival of Lughnasa.

The highly successful WOSAT Arts Festival will be returning to the west of the Island this year during the early May Bank Holiday weekend, with an exciting platform with which to promote both artists and the visual arts on the Isle of Man.

Organised by The Creative Network, last year's event recorded excellent visitor numbers, which has prompted the group to include additional ideas and widen the creative experience for both artists and visitors.

The contaminated harbour silt issue entered an entirely new dimension of absurdity last week as the Isle of Man’s (impartial and objective) Police Force decided they would take no action over haul route incidents when material which comprises a ‘rich soup’ of arsenic, lead and other heavy metals was deposited on the highway on day one of the operation at Peel Harbour.

Although abhorrent in nature, the alleged attempts to defame Nicola Sturgeon are in keeping with the political tactics that have become popular among many right-wing newspapers and both left- and right-wing Westminster parties.
