'Visit Cornwall' perform remarkable mid day U turn! Cornwall Council issue statement! Cornwall is closed!

It would appear that a loud message sent out by the people of Cornwall has been heard!

Cornwall Council have also heeded the warning we have sent to all their senior members and have made a full statement.

A statement from Visit Cornwall, dated and timed Friday 20th March 2020, 12.00 Noon:

"Despite the lack of clarity from the Government, Visit Cornwall is advising that visitors should not come to Cornwall at this time.

In order to slow the spread of the virus, to protect themselves, as well as the communities of Cornwall.

We are asking people to postpone visiting Cornwall until a later date, when they will find Cornwall the same beautiful and welcoming place."

We thank all those who have contacted us by email and our social media sites with messages of concern some showing the appalling methods used by some in the tourist trade to entice visitors to Cornwall by offering virus free accommodation to shelter out the coming storm.

Amongst those communications have been several from medical and other emergency service workers expressing their concerns.

This is a huge success for the common sense possessed by the Cornish people and the people of Cornwall in the face of greed and money making individuals and businesses who were placing their profits above the health of our people!
