Preach unrestricted immigration in the UK Bill!

Strange something called the business ‘community’ is organising a debate about another tranche of immigration. The debate will take place against a backdrop of emigration which despite government attempts to tell us otherwise still is going on:

I was interested that both the speakers at the event support immigration it's just one Bill Shimmin(s) MHK, the Billy Connolly of Manx politics, is more extreme than the other.

Bill wants to remove any restriction on immigration I’ll tell you what Bill why not go back to the UK where you came from and preach that mantra.

The actual problem as I highlighted over two decades ago to a Tynwald Committee is not that we have work permits but that we used the Control of Employment legislation as a crude form of immigration control. We are not a sovereign nation so despite work permits you have no control over who comes here just the ability to control some sectors of employment and that has been shrinking for the past quarter century.

Let's be clear what the business community want and folk like Shimmin(s) is population displacement and to a certain extent that has been happening.

Personally I couldn't give a fig about work permits I think the debate that should be engaged in with the business ‘community’ is their evasion of proper share of tax and the use of the ‘expenses culture’ to effectively further reduce what the pay the Treasury. Thats the big debate we need but Treasury Minister Alf Cannan MHK and the Shimmin(s) of this world don’t want that hence this drivel on September 12th. I would suggest a demo outside but are they worth it - no?

When are some of the new MHKs or the new gender balanced Legco going to speak out against this nonsense…………....silence!
