Plaid Cymru gather for autumn conference in Llangollen

Plaid Cymru/The Party of Wales is gathering for its autumn conference in Llangollen. Welcoming the delegates to the two-day conference Plaid Cymru AM (elected member to the National Assembly of Wales/Cynulliad Cenedlaethol Cymru) for North Wales Llyr Gruffydd said:

"I am very pleased to welcome Plaid Cymru members, new and old, to Llangollen for this important conference.

"This is the last annual conference before the 2015 election, and is where we kick-start the work of showing the people of Wales why Plaid Cymru is the only party working for Wales.

"Over recent weeks, the tectonic plates of the UK have shifted irreversibly, and Plaid Cymru is working hard to ensure that Wales is given a fair deal as we move forward. The people of Wales do not want to return to the dark days of being treated as a second-class nation and Plaid Cymru will make sure that this does not happen.

"It is a great privilege that this important conference is taking place in Llangollen, and I’m sure that we will enter into the general election with renewed enthusiasm as a result of the decisions taken here this weekend."

"Mae’n bleser mawr gen i groesawu aelodau hen a newydd Plaid Cymru i Langollen ar gyfer y gynhadledd bwysig hon.

"Dyma’r gynhadledd flynyddol olaf cyn etholiad 2015, a dyma lle’r ydym yn rhoi cychwyn ar y gwaith o ddangos i bobl Cymru pam mai Plaid Cymru yw’r unig blaid sy’n gweithio i Gymru.

"Dros yr wythnosau diwethaf, mae platiau tectonig y DG wedi newid am byth, ac y mae Plaid Cymru yn gweithio’n galed i sicrhau fod Cymru yn cael bargen deg wrth i ni symud ymlaen. Dyw pobl Cymru ddim eisiau dychwelyd i ddyddiau duon cael ein trin fe cenedl eilradd, ac fe fydd Plaid Cymru yn gwneud yn siŵr na fydd hyn yn digwydd.

"Mae’n fraint fawr fod y gynhadledd bwysig hon yn cael ei chynnal yn Llangollen, ac yr wyf yn siŵr yr awn i mewn i’r etholiad cyffredinol gyda mwy o frwdfrydedd o ganlyniad i’r penderfyniadau a gymerir y penwythnos hwn."

Speaking today at the conference Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood said :“The Party of Wales wants to bring our government home to Wales so that we have the powers and levers to at least put us on par with our neighbours. Wales must have the power over its own natural resources, criminal justice and policing system and our government must be made accountable to the people for the money it spends on their behalf through transferring significant fiscal powers to Cardiff.”
