Kernow Matters To Us (KMTU) has received a number of communications from folks including some of our own members who have had letters from the Office for National Statistics Census with non compliance warning notices threatening court action and up to £1,000 fines for failing to complete the Census. All these people completed the Census and posted the forms back. We have further established that many received two identical sets of Census forms and believe this is where the confusion arises.
We have therefore written to the ONS as follows to 'put them right'. There is only one way to deal with the dysfunctional Westminster Government and its various quangos and that is firmly:

Re. ONS Census non compliance warning notices being incorrectly sent
Many people in our community are reporting receipt of non compliance notices from the ONS threatening prosecution.Indeed, some are even receiving home visits.
All of the recipients who have contacted us have completed paper copies of the Census and posted them back in the envelope provided via the Post Office and Royal Mail.
A considerable number report receiving more than one Census form and completed one set and discarded the second identical copy.
We feel that your despatch of two Census forms to some individual addresses may be the root cause of your incorrect perceptions.
Please be aware of this and may we suggest you carefully check your records before posting oppressive notices threatening legal action.
These serve only to aggravate law abiding citizens and members of the Cornish National Minority many of whom are suspicious of your Census and its discriminatory exclusion of Cornish people in arrogantly failing to include a Cornish tick box despite popular demand which was supported by our elected representatives but dismissed by your unelected quango.
We reserve the right to inform the media of this matter.
Yours faithfully
