Not sure what point Juan is making here but if what he is saying is that the judicial system is ‘a law unto itself’ well I agree with him 100%.:

Fortunately for him he has received a reasonable judgement from Deputy High Bailiff Jane Hughes but one wonders why these sort of alleged offences go to so high a level in the judicial system or indeed they are not just dealt with using a less costly tribunal process which would be more speedy with the backstop of an appeal to a Commissioner.
Hughes infamous for jailing a woman whole stole a packet of firewood kindling because she was cold is hardly a ‘bleeding heart liberal’ but fortunately for Juan she must have been having a good day and consigned the issue to ‘the judicial dustbin’ while dishing out admonishments all round - though not to the Information Commissioner. You have to hand it to Hughes even when there’s no case to answer she finds something to be vitriolic about a sign of something but lets no go there!
Turner makes a good point he was fortunate and (knowing him) reasonably determined enough to fight it but many people lack the funds or the fortitude.
I know of a case ongoing where an individual in poor health and of very limited means is being crucified by the system over an issue that common sense let alone the courts should determine.
Will the Turner judgement or his comments improve things I doubt it. We have a smug judiciary and a coterie of legal professions who for the most part are predicated on keeping justice in ‘a world or smoke and mirrors’. A wonderland that is expensive into the bargain!
I mean attend a court and its a bit like act in some Victorian pantomime which has invariably been strung out over many months.
Meanwhile the icing for me is the lump in the throat of some of Turners detractors on social forums now having to choke on their own bile!
