The line-up for this years Edinburgh International Book Festival has been revealed. The Edinburgh International Book Festival is held in the last three weeks of August every year in Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh (Scottish Gaelic: Dùn Èideann). It is described as the largest festival of its kind in the world and coincides with the Edinburgh International Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
During the 17 day event at Charlotte Square Gardens over 800 writers, illustrators, poets, playwrights, scientists and historians, politicians and journalists from 55 countries are scheduled to participate. The Festival runs from 13 to 29 August. Scottish Culture Secretary Fiona Hyslop, Scottish National Party Member of the Scottish Parliament for Linlithgow said: "This year's programme is sure to capture and excite audiences whilst raising Scotland's cultural profile on the international stage."
