Huge success at Chy an Mor, Penzance by 'Yes Kernow' Patriots

Information and attached photographs from the 'Yes Kernow' tea:

"Chy an Mor roundabout was extremely busy in terms of traffic during Sunday 24th October, 2021 and so we were pleased to put on a successful visibility action there.

The support received from passing motorists was incredible and it seemed that many were aware that we were due at the location having read about us on social media.

Some even stopped off for a chat and to find out more and our vision for a better Cornwall free from the ties and burdens of the dysfunctional Westminster Government.

After all, why should we stand by and watch local people being evicted from their homes to make way for holiday makers, second and even third homes being built aimed at a wealthy incomer market inflating house prices far beyond the reach of local people, rising rents, locals sent to blue 'Bunkabin' reservations in car parks, locals living in garden sheds and on boats and sofa surfing, uncontrolled so called development eating up our coastline and countryside, a health service in a state of permanent crisis with even brave paramedics speaking out in the local press about the threat to lives, sewage being pumped in to our sea causing huge environmental damage, queues growing at food banks and a system of governance based hundreds of miles away which doesn't listen and doesn't care?

We really can do better!

Horns sounded, shouts of 'Kernow bys vyken!' and waves from passing public service workers resulted in 'YK' team members waving their flags even higher.

The local police attended and chatted in a very friendly manner and one passing officer quietly said that if they were not in uniform, they would be there with us with a Piran flag.

We were very pleased to be joined by two folks from the 'First Not Second Homes' group and naturally, support their calls entirely.

This is the latest 'Yes Kernow' visibility action which started at Chiverton Cross during the G7 Summit and which has toured around Cornwall since, occurring on roundabouts, busy junctions and over bridges.

We have been delighted to have been joined by members of the wider 'Yes Movement' as well with Welsh patriots having travelled to Cornwall to support us and with huge online support from Scotland, Wales and Brittany.

As a sign of solidarity with the other Celtic Nations, folks attending 'YK' actions aften fly flags from Wales, Scotland, Brittany, Ireland and the Isle of Man as well as the Pan Celtic banner.

Peaceful and extremely welcoming and good humoured actions have become our hallmark."
