Florida Keys Celtic Festival Kicks Off the Festival Season with Albannach and Rathkeltair

The 3rd Annual Florida Keys Celtic Festival will be held January 8th through 10th.   The festival will take place in Marathon situated half way between the mainland and Key West.  The entertainment line-up for the 2016 Festival includes Celtic bands Albannach, Rathkeltair, The Screaming Orphans, Marcille Wallis & Friends, West of Galway and the Police Pipe and Drum of Florida. 

Also on hand will be a sanctioned Women's Highlands Athletic Competition and a Men’s Highland Athletics demonstration. According to Marcille Wallis, organizer and President of Celtic Heritage productions, attendance at this newcomer to the Florida Celtic festival scene is expected to more than triple in 2016, in its third year. 

Featuring Albannach, who combine a combustible combination of Pipes and Drums, and who are a dominant presence on the Festival entertainment circuit. Albannach tour extensively in North America and in the UK and are based in Glasgow, Scotland.

The Celtic rock band Rathkeltair will also appear.  The band is named after the historical site in County Down in Ireland near the birthplace of band member Nick Watson.  Band member Trevor Tanner is the former front man for 80’s MTV era band “The Bolshoi” and bassist James "Struby" Stuble is a founding member of the Seven Nations (Clan Na Gael).
