Epic kayak journey around Wales in tribute to best friend

Finn Burnham, 18, from Betws-y-Coed, has completed an epic 400 nautical mile journey around Wales in the memory of best friend Callum Wylie. Callum, an international level skier and talented mountain biker, tragically died, aged 18, on February  1, days after making an attempt on his own life. Finn started his epic kayak journey on September 1 from Llandudno lifeboat station, tackling inland waterways, locks and rivers. Then he followed the coastline of Wales all the way to the completion of his journey last Saturday, near the Llandudno lifeboat station where it all began. Perhaps rather aptly, he finished his journey just as a storm, named Callum, was sweeping across Wales.

His friend, Callum Wylie, had Aspergers syndrome, and since his death his mother has set up a foundation to provide more support for people with Aspergers. Finn took on this kayak challenge to raise money for the Callum Wylie Foundation. He had a target of £1,000, but has passed this sum, and the amount he has raised so far is in excess of £3000.
