NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE

We highlighted David Cameron’s ‘sea-bird intolerance’ recently and once again it was highlighted emotively yesterday in that pillar of objectivity, The Daily Telegraph, under the dramatic title ‘Killer Seagulls’ (see link);

We also recently had the seagull ASBO THAT NEVER WAS incident in the Isle of Man (see link);

You start to despair when you read this ‘over the top’ rubbish but just as our faith over mans willingness to interact with the natural world was about to take a dent forever we stumbled on a slightly more heartening and enlightened approach to our feathered (sea bird) friends on the other side of the Irish Sea.

Dublin port long a home to a substantial colony of Terns has actually created floating pontoon areas where the birds can safely nest and rear their young.
