Basque Country - Saudi arms shipments blocked say activists

A Basque pressure group is claiming that ‘social pressure’ has stopped shipments of arms through the Port of Bilbao to Saudi Arabia,

They say the Port had been a major conduit for war materials which are used in their murderous war against the people of Yemen.

Hundreds of containers had been shipped in the past but the group say that for three months no materials have been channeled through the Port (link):

They now intend to organise a Europe wide campaign to stop arms shipments.

The UK is also a major supplier of weapons but despite some political unease of late workers in both England and Scotland continue to churn out weapons for the Saudi’s. Meanwhile children die in the indiscriminate bombing raids of Yemen which are aided and supported by British service and contract personnel in Saudi Arabia.
