ADAMS DEATH THREAT MAN CHARGED
A former reservist with the British Army has been charged against the Sinn Fein Leader Gerry Adams.
Mr Adams a member of the Irish Parliament, the Dail, has a home in Belfast . It is understood that police were called to the home, approximately two months ago, after being told a bomb had been placed there. It turned out to be a hoax.
The 39 year old former member of the British Territorial Army is facing 14 related charges including one of improper use of electronic communications and also threats to kill.
Since his role in the establishment of the Peace Process Mr Adams has been the subject of periodic threats from both loyalists and dissident republicans.
Thirty years ago, in March 1984, Mr Adams was seriously injured in a failed assassination attempt by Loyalist members of the UDA who fired twenty shots into a car he was travelling in. Security Forces were aware of the attack before it occurred.
