Our Visit

Don't miss this castle. The National Trust/Yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol, have responsibility for Dinefwr Park and the Castle Walks are beautiful. The Castle, which is managed by Cadw, is reached by a walk up through the woods from the Welcome Centre. There is a charge but it is worth every penny. It was October when we went to the site and the trees were beginning to change colour and shed their leaves. It had been a showery day and that gave Castell Dinefwr a special dark brooding atmosphere. The magical feeling of Halloween hung over the site and it's surrounds. Exploring the Castle was a delight and the views over the Tywi Valley were wonderful. We recommend a visit and that you give yourself time to explore the Castle Walk.
