Parke's Castle

This castle was built in 1610 on the site of a previous fifteenth century castle and kept the bawn (defensive wall) of that building. Within the walls with it's round towers is a three story manor house.

Getting there

Travelling north along the N4 to Sligo/Sligeach the County town of Sligo. Take the R286 east along the north of Loch Gill in County Leitrim. Off the R286 and at the eastern end of the lough is Parkes Castle.
