Kenmare Stone Circle

Kenmare Stone Circle is made up of 15 stones. Of which 13 remain standing and two are now on the ground. They surround a boulder burial in the centre which has a large capstone of about two metres in length, 1.8m wide and 0.8m thick. The weight of this capstone is estimated to be about seven tons. The circle measures 17.4 x 15.8m and estimated to date to about (2,500 – 500 BC). The circle is located in the town of Kenmare (Irish: An Neidín) not far from the Cromwell Bridge, in County Kerry (Irish: Contae Chiarraí).
