Lannion - Lannuon

Lannion - Lannuon is a city in the Côtes-d'Armor (Breton: Aodoù-an-Arvor) department in Brittany. It is located on the estuary of the River Léguer. It grew on a site that has been occupied since the Neolithic era. Lannion developed around the ford, which made it possible to cross the Léguer, the site of today’s Kermaria Bridge. The town has medieval houses and narrow streets and is built on the hillside. The town also has an airport. The old quarter of Lannion is particulalry popular with tourists to the city. It has old squares, a church called Brélévenez, which overlooks the city and gives wonderful views. It has a number of half-timbered houses as well as chapels and frescoes. The city is the capital of Trégor (Breton: Treger) and is known as being the gateway to the sectacular Pink Granite Coast.
